Professor of Early Modern Greek History at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
Maria Efthymiou was born in Larissa (Thessaly), in 1955. She studied History at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and in Sorbonne, in Paris. From 1981, she teaches Early Modern Greek and World History at the NKUA and has participated in many international History conferences. She has published 6 books and more than 85 articles on History, and she has been honored with the “Exceptional Academic Teaching Award in honor of Vassilis Xanthopoulos and Stefanos Pnevmatikos.”
In human societies there are always groups who question. And it can be said that this thread of questioning has some inherently healthy characteristics, but it also contains a level of sickness and, to a great extent, this polarization we are experiencing now is negative.
